UNIT I CIRCUIT ANALYSIS TECHNIQUES

Syllabus:

Kirchoff’s current and voltage laws – series and parallel connection of independent sources – R, L and C – Network Theorems – Thevenin, Superposition, Norton, Maximum power transfer and duality – Star-delta conversion.

About :

This Unit Mostly Covered off simple problems its so  simple to study this unit . Based Upon the theorems problem will be asked

Study method :

First Be Confident with theorems and their definitions. Any one of the theorem will be asked in 2 mark
conform .

This Unit Have 2 Section of Problems

Section 1 -Mesh Analysis, Nodel Analysis and based on series parallel connections and star delta conversion  and  KVL KCL
Section 2- Problem Based on  Thevenin, Superposition, Norton, Maximum power transfer and duality theorems

If You good well in Section 2 full and Mesh analysis Sure you can attend 16 mark fully from this unit

UNIT II TRANSIENT RESONANCE IN RLC CIRCUITS

Syllabus:

Basic RL, RC and RLC circuits and their responses to pulse and sinusoidal inputs – frequency response – Parallel and series resonances – Q factor – single tuned and double tuned circuits.

About :

This unit Consist of mostly derivation .Based on those simple derivation problem will be asked

Study method :

Please study RL,RC,RLC circuit response. If you cant study  mug up it this is most important one of the 8 section based on this derivations  problem will be asked its also similar to the derivations

if you can study frequency response -parallel and series resonance . (For who people would like to get full mark )

Similar way please study or mug up single tuned and double tuned circuits and derivations
if you are lucky this will be asked in 8 mark

UNIT III SEMICONDUCTOR DIODES

Syllabus:

Review of intrinsic & extrinsic semiconductors – Theory of PN junction diode – Energy band structure – current equation – space charge and diffusion capacitances – effect of temperature and breakdown mechanism – Zener diode and its characteristics.

About :

This unit is simple and easy to get more mark .Its is about pn junction diode

Study method :

Continuity Equation (very important)
Carrier Concentration(v.imp, its simillar to what you study in Physics 2 1st unit)
Please Study Fully About pn junction diode

  Under PN Junction diode
  • Theory(important)
  • Energy Band structure ( have a over view)
  • Diode Current Equation (important)
  • Drift and diffusion current
  • Capacitance
  • All Break down Mechanism (important)

UNIT IV TRANSISTORS

Syllabus:

Principle of operation of PNP and NPN transistors – study of CE, CB and CC configurations and comparison of their characteristics – Breakdown in transistors – operation and comparison of N-Channel and P-Channel JFET – drain current equation –MOSFET – Enhancement and depletion types – structure and operation – comparison of BJT with MOSFET – thermal effect on MOSFET.
